U-M Greeks give back to Ann Arbor on Service Day

On Saturday, October 22, 2011, members of the Greek Community will come together to give back to the greater Ann Arbor area. During the 2nd annual day of service, students in the Panhellenic Association, Interfraternity Council, Multicultural Greek Council, and National Pan-Hellenic Council have the opportunity to pick from a variety of opportunities and skill levels. Local agencies being served include: Peace Neighborhood Center, Glacier Hills Retirement Center, Food Gatherers, Ann Arbor ReUse Center, Michigan Abilities Center, Ann Arbor Leslie Science Center, Northside Community Center, City of Ann Arbor Park Natural Area Restoration, and Lamaze Family Center. Last year, over 700 students volunteered by helping build a Habitat for Humanity House, clearing trails at Miller Nature Area, and making blankets for the U-M Comprehensive Cancer Center.
