Please join the U-M’s new campus-wide initiative, the Inclusive Language Campaign (ILC). ILC aims to encourage the campus community to consider the impact of their word choices on others. The ILC raises awareness about the power of words, why certain language can be hurtful to others, and how to be more inclusive in how we speak and act as members of the Michigan campus community. The ILC is part of the campus-wide Expect Respect Campaign.
The kickoff event will be held in the Pendleton Room on the second floor of the Union, Monday, September 15, 2015, from 10am-3pm. We would love it if you would stop by and show your support! There will be lots of great food, music, performances, and swag for you to enjoy. Additionally, if you are interested in doing any ILC-related programming throughout the year in your unit please let Amanda McLittle (mandamc) know. In addition, if you have an ILC shirt already please wear it on the 15th to show your support for the kickoff event.
