Student Life

As you may know, U-M is in the process of moving project sites off of CTools. If you or your student organization has a CTools project site, now is the time to review those sites.

Here is what you need to do:

  1. Determine which project site(s) you own. If you are an owner and shouldn’t be, you can remove yourself or transfer ownership.

  2. If you no longer need a site, use the self-service tool to delete it.

  3. If you need the content and membership list from the site, use the self-service tool in CTools to download resources and email archive content. Go to My Workspace and select the new link to “Project Site Migration” in the left-hand navigation.

  4. After you have downloaded the content, save it in a location of your choosing or migrate it to another platform. A wizard can help you select alternatives to CTools. (For student organizations, Maize Pages are easily available and supported by Student Life.)

  5. Once the files have been downloaded and the CTools site is no longer needed, delete it from CTools to prevent further migration reminder emails to the site’s owners.

The target date for transitioning all active project sites from CTools is August 31, 2018; however, individual schools and colleges may choose an earlier date. All historical content in CTools will be available at least through July 1, 2019.

Contact the project team or visit the project website for more information.
