What is your name? Josh Greenfield
What is your graduation year? 2009 (LSA, LSA-RC)
Where are you from originally? Metro Detroit, MI
What student organizations have you been involved with? Mortar Board Senior Honor Society, Dance Marathon, and various organizations within U of M Hillel. I’ve also been a member of the CAPS Student Advisory Board and a volunteer at University Hospital and Mott Children’s Hospital.
What is your most memorable moment in college? I’d have to say becoming involved with the Program on Intergroup Relations.
How are you the Michigan Difference? Honestly, I don’t think any one student is the “Michigan Difference”. I think the U of M community as a whole embodies this idea through their diverse talents and wide range of knowledge and experiences that they bring to the table in everything they do. Everyone at Michigan has so much to offer if you take the time to get to know them.
How have you benefitted from student affairs? I think I’ve just really benefited from knowing about the vast range of services and offices available on campus that help support my growth and development as both a student and a member of the university community. For example, I’ve taken advantage of a lot of the resources at the Career Center, The Program on Intergroup Relations, the many offices that help support student organizations, and other divisions of student affairs that support health and wellness, such as Rec Sports.
What advice do you have for prospective or incoming students? Overall, as someone who has really been involved in so many different areas of the university, I’ve been able to see firsthand the level of effort and commitment the university shows in making sure student needs are met and I wish more students shared that knowledge and awareness.
