The "Take Your Professor or GSI to Lunch" program continues for the winter 2012 semester! The program offers students and faculty an opportunity to enjoy lunch together for FREE. This program was initiated by the Rackham Student Government and the Michigan Union Board of Representatives and is supported by the Office of the Provost and the Division of Student Affairs. The mission of the program is to allow students to get to know their professors and graduate student instructors (GSIs) in a comfortable setting outside the classroom.
Each lunch party can consist of up to four people and can be any combination of U-M students, professors or GSIs, as long as each group includes at least one professor or GSI and one student. Lunches can take place on any Monday through Friday of the semester (limit of one lunch per program participant each semester).
To take advantage of this program, you need to:
- Discuss with your classmates which of your professors or GSIs you would like to invite to lunch.
- Go to the administrative offices in the Michigan Union, Michigan League or Pierpont Commons and sign out a lunch coupon. Tickets will be available starting at 10:00am on Wednesday, March 14. As there are a limited number of coupons available each semester that are available on a first come, first served basis, you will want to take advantage of this great opportunity soon. A student may sign out only one ticket per semester.
- Set the time and location to meet for lunch.
- Redeem the ticket with your professor at one of the following locations: Commons Caf (Pierpont Commons), University Club (Michigan Union), Beanster's (Pierpont Commons and Michigan League), MUJO (Duderstadt Center), Bert's Caf (Shapiro Library) by April 27, 2012.
