Residence Education is beginning our search for next year’s ResStaff, specifically those who will work in all of our undergraduate residential communities. ResStaff are our live-in student employees, who perform the roles of Resident Adviser (RA) and Diversity Peer Educator (DPE). We are looking for driven, compassionate, and caring student leaders looking for a challenging and rewarding employment opportunity. Our ResStaff focus on building inclusive, welcoming communities in support all of the students who live with us. The application is open from October 5 and will close Monday, October 23 at 11:59 pm EST.
The requirements for our RA & DPE positions are the following:
Completion of 2 semesters (Fall and Winter) by the end of Winter 2018.
24 credit hours (sophomore standing) of college or university coursework, not including credits completed via AP, IB, or college units taken during high school, by the end of Winter 2018.
Candidates must successfully complete ALA 421 prior to employment. (Note: Candidates offered a position beginning Winter 2018 will take the course concurrently to their employment.)
ResEd Student Staff in communities serving Undergraduate Students must be pursuing an undergraduate degree from the University of Michigan, and be able to commit to the full academic year - both fall and winter terms.
