Your first year at U-M is a journey – a time to get involved, explore your campus community, and start making this Michigan experience truly yours. First Year Experience can help you chart your own unique course.

Student Life provides a variety of programs in the Fall and Winter terms of your first year, many offered right in your residence hall, that are collectively known as the First Year Experience. You’ll get to learn new skills, connect with your classmates, and decide what you want to get out of your time in college.

The sessions will cover some of your biggest questions about health and wellness, diversity and inclusion, life skills, living in a community, academic success, leadership, and career development (all topics previous students requested so they could become The Leaders & The Best.)

It’s your first year- how will you create your experience? Visit the First Year Experience website to learn more.
