Did you know that U-M has a Campus Farm? The collaborative project by U-M students, faculty and staff, community members, and Matthaei-Nichols was designed to grow vegetables and herbs on campus. It began in 2011. This fall, MDining and Matthaei Botanical Gardens and Nichols Arboretum coordinated the hires of Jeremy Moghtader and Alex Bryan as farm manager and Sustainable Food Program manager, respectively. They will be expanding the U-M Sustainable Food Project (UMSFP) program, increasing campus farm production for sales to MDining, and facilitating academic courses at the Campus Farm and other UMSFP initiatives.
