Kambiz Khalili joined the University of Michigan’s Student Life leadership team as the Associate Vice President for Student Life in December of 2017. Prior to moving to Michigan he was the Associate Vice Chancellor at the University of Colorado. During his 14 years of service at the University of Colorado, Kambiz provided leadership and oversight for a number of programs and services like Housing & Dining Services, Student Union, Student Health Center and CAPS, Campus Recreation Center, Center for Student Involvement, and Conference Services to name a few. He helped change the landscape of CU Boulder by providing leadership to develop a strategic plan that supported the construction of many of the recent non-academic landmark facilities on the campus. Kambiz was also instrumental in working with the student leaders to help create the Center for Student Involvement and led the efforts to merge the University Memorial Center Food Service with Housing & Dining Services.
Kambiz has a demonstrated strong track record of entrepreneurship, strategic planning, budget management, student-centered approach to decision making, and a keen focus on customer service and cost-effectiveness. His higher education experience expands over twenty-eight years, of which twenty-two years has been at the senior administrative level, overseeing multiple complex operations.
