How does your student get involved in a true college experience, and yet stay within safety and social distancing guidelines? Meeting people, participating in Student Orgs, volunteering, and just getting involved is so essential to the campus equation. Yet, the COVID-19 pandemic, and its social distancing guidelines, has made making those connections a challenge for students.
Student Life’s Finding Community website is available to help by providing many options for getting involved either virtually or through activities with safety protocols in place. The site lists ways to make a difference by serving on a board, volunteering, or meeting people with similar interests.
The site has suggestions for a variety of interests, including those who want to:
- Join a student organization
- Join a fraternity or sorority
- Connect with others and exercise
- Connect with others and volunteer
- Learn about leadership opportunities
- Connect with resources during a difficult time
In addition, your student receives a Things to Do email every Sunday evening listing information about upcoming campus programs and events for the coming week. The email is loaded with opportunities to connect and meet new people and covers a wide variety of interests. For more events, your student can also check out Happening at Michigan.
