Fireside Cafe Tacos

Taking the plunge to live off-campus doesn't mean student dining will become more difficult. Several meal plan options for off-campus students are available that include delicious meals with an endless variety of choices. Not to mention the convenience of not having to shop, cook and clean up after!

Here are some of the options:

Block or Unlimited plans

Students who live off campus, in Northwood Apartments, or in the Munger Graduate Residences can choose one of three Block Plans or one of three Unlimited Plans for the fall and winter terms. For the spring and summer terms, an Unlimited Basic Plan allows students to eat as often as they would like during regular dining hours.

Block Plans are for students who would like to eat some meals in dining halls with the flexibility to choose an on-campus café for additional meals and snacks. Students can choose the 50, 75 or 125 Block Plan. Prices range from $1000 to $1400 per term and include additional Dining Dollars that can be used just like cash at more than two dozen locations across campus, including pantries, cafés and markets located in residence halls, libraries, Palmer Commons and University Unions buildings.

Unlimited plans provides students with an unlimited number of meals at any dining hall and $300 in Dining Dollars to spend on coffee, snacks, and meals when the students can’t make a dining hall during regular hours. Also included is 15 To-Go Meals, and 12 Guest Meals for friends and family. Prices range from $2100-$2400 per term.

Meal Plans can be purchased online at MyPlan or by contacting

Blue Bucks

Blue Bucks are campus currency at U-M. The cards allow students to not worry about carrying cash, and parents to not worry about where money is being spent. Blue Bucks can be used at any campus café or market, dining hall, residential hall laundry room, vending machine, on campus Barnes & Noble bookstores and even athletic venues. They are refundable, also.

Just add Blue Bucks to your student's MyPlan or buy Blue Bucks during regular service hours at Mcard Service Centers with cash or a check. They can also be purchased at any Michigan Dining market or café with cash or credit card.
