Health & Wellness Campus Resources

Health and well-being can directly affect students' ability to succeed at the university. If your student has a need or interest, you can encourage them to use these Student Life services to support their holistic wellness. 

Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS) services span from clinical counseling and screenings to support for climate issues in our complex world. Your student can expect high-quality mental health services and an environment that allows students to take positive pathways to mental health. Services are confidential.

Sexual Assault Prevention and Awareness Center (SAPAC) provides free and confidential crisis intervention, advocacy, and support for survivors of sexual assault, intimate partner violence, stalking and sexual harassment who are U-M students, faculty and staff. The SAPAC team also balances educating our community and promoting social change nationally.

Dean of Students Office (DOS) is a central place for students, parents, faculty, and staff to receive assistance with navigating the complex issues of student life. The DOS staff provide support to individual students or groups experiencing life situations impacting their Michigan experience and coordinates the appropriate individual or campus-wide response. DOS also organizes Parent & Family Weekend and supports students who live off-campus through the program called Beyond the Diag

Spectrum Center is a collaborative space in which all members of the university and local community are welcome. Through collaboration and partnership efforts, the center prepares students to thrive in a diverse society and globally. The center humbly works toward enhancing the campus climate and support services for LGBTQ+ students, staff, and faculty at the university through education, advocacy, and community building.

University Health Service (UHS) promotes and protects the health and well-being of students and the broader campus community. Clinic services are comprehensive and confidential. Your student can call 734-764-8320 to discuss a health concern or schedule an appointment for medical services. Nurse advice is available by phone, day or night. Wolverine Wellness is the part of UHS that works across campus to support and improve student wellness. Students can receive individual services including:

In addition, Wolverine Wellness offers free resources and information for safer sex, tobacco cessation, and sleep. The office is also home to U-M's Collegiate Recovery Program

Where to start? With so many campus resources, you may wonder where to start if your student needs help. You can call the Dean of Students Office at 734-764-7420 for assistance, and they can direct you or your student to appropriate resources.
