Here on campus we are gearing up for Welcome Week and the beginning of the 2015-2016 academic year. Welcome back to all our students, parents, and families. And if your family is new to the University of Michigan – welcome to Student Life! I serve as the Vice President for the Division of Student Life; just as the name says, we are the part of the university that supports every aspect of student's lives on campus.
Student Life is committed to student learning and the development of the whole student in a diverse campus community. Through our programs, services, facilities and partnerships, we facilitate student transformation and enrich their educations.
At its core, Student Life provides your students with transformative learning experiences and personal development, as well as:
- Community Development; we help your students find their “home away from home” on campus
- Intercultural Development and Social Justice Education; we offer a wide range of Inclusive Campus Resources, there’s something here for everyone
- Health & Well-Being Education; read on for important information to help you decide about immunizations and tuition reimbursement insurance
- Student Intervention, Support and Advocacy; this month the newsletter features the many essential services we provide, like Residential Community Centers, services for students with disabilities and assistance during Move In 2015!
Your student's college experience is a milestone, a life changer, and an adventure. Student Life will be there every step of the journey. If I can be of any assistance in connecting you with Student Life's many resources and services, please do not hesitate to contact this office – firstname.lastname@example.org or (734) 764-5132.
