Today University of Michigan President Mark S. Schlissel, Provost Susan M. Collins and Vice President for Student Life Martino Harmon provided the biweekly Campus COVID-19 Briefing, where they were joined by campus leaders to provide updates and information about campus conditions.
The leaders announced that U-M students choosing to live in Ann Arbor on-campus housing during the fall term will be required to be fully vaccinated for COVID-19 and to have shared proof of their vaccination with the university unless they have a documented exemption.
This week’s Briefing was preceded by a Moment of Reflection to recognize the trauma our community has experienced over the past year that has included anti-Blackness, anti-Asian racism, the COVID-19 pandemic, mass shootings, the U.S. Capitol insurrection, and the verdict in the trial of the murder of George Floyd. President Schlissel also provided updated information on opportunities for U-M students to get vaccinated against COVID-19 before returning home. Don’t forget, the Spring Commencement team has invited graduating students to a unique opportunity to experience our virtual Spring Commencement on May 1 from the stands of Michigan Stadium.
Earlier today, your student received this emailed update announcement, which includes a link to the COVID-19 Briefing and other information.
