Student Life - Research

Registration is now closed for the Fourteenth Annual Student Life Research Symposium on May 31, 2017. The 2017 Student Life Research Symposium theme is "Gather, Reflect, Share: Demonstrating Impact in Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Work."

Our Eric Dey Memorial Keynote Address will be presented by Dr. Tia Brown McNair, Vice President, Office of Diversity, Equity and Student Success at the Association of American Colleges and Universities (AAC&U). Dr. McNair has deep expertise in fostering inclusive excellence and equitable student learning through institutional change, intentional design of high-impact educational experiences, and the assessment of student learning outcomes.

The Symposium will also highlight progress to date and lessons learned from the first year of implementation of the University of Michigan Student Life’s Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Plan.  Attendees will leave with a national perspective on the importance of embracing an informed approach for advancing key initiatives; exposure to different approaches to assessing impact; and tools for gathering, reflecting on, and sharing data.
