Get Help Navigating Complex Issues

Student Life’s Dean of Students Office works to:

  • Promote a safe, respectful, healthy, and inclusive campus community
  • Enhance students’ Michigan experience
  • Provide support services and manage critical incidents impacting students and the campus community
  • Respond to emerging needs within the U-M student population

The Dean of Students Office is a central place for students, parents, faculty, and staff to seek assistance in navigating the complex issues of campus life. The critical incident response and student support case management team provides direct support to students experiencing any concern that is impacting their Michigan experience such as academic, financial, physical/mental health, crisis/emergency situations, basic needs, and off-campus housing issues.

The Campus Climate Support (CCS) staff focuses on addressing concerns that may create harm to members of the University community based on their identity and is committed to providing support to students who may have been targets of or affected by a campus climate concern. CCS works to ensure that appropriate University resources and expertise are available to anyone who feels they have been harmed or negatively impacted by a campus climate concern.
