U-M students get active in many ways, and Student Life is there to support them. Any day on campus you can search the Happening@Michigan calendar for fun, educational, and inspiring things to do. Or see the University Activities Center to find out what the Victors do in their spare time. Student Life’s Recreational Sports offers almost endless opportunities to get active, including 4 indoor facilities, Outdoor Adventures’ bike rentals, indoor rock climbing wall, and backpacking, and the Challenge Program’s experiential team building programs, including an outdoors ropes course. And Wolverine Wellness nurtures a healthy campus community with coaching and educational programs on tobacco cessation, safer sex, alcohol, healthy eating and sleeping habits and much more.
Student Life’s Club Sports supports student-led athletic teams in dozens of sports. Student officers are responsible for the day-to-day operations and management of each club, and the teams represent the University of Michigan through competitive athletic opportunities against other colleges and universities. Many clubs compete at an elite level, and all strive to be national champions.
Student Life’s Happening@Michigan is an events calendar for the entire University of Michigan community. On a typical day during the academic year, there are dozens of campus workshops, performances, movies, seminars, rallies, sporting events, community service opportunities, fairs, and festivals to be found here.
Student Life’s Recreational Sports promotes a healthy lifestyle through student engagement, leadership opportunities, and physical activity. Get active via a Group-X group fitness class, visit one of our many indoor or outdoor recreational facilities, and be sure to check out some of the other programs Rec Sports offers during your time on campus.
Student Life’s Spectrum Center is a collaborative space in which all members of the university and local community are welcome. Through collaboration and partnership efforts, the Center supports students to thrive in a diverse society and globally. The center works toward enhancing the campus climate and support services for LGBTQ+ students, staff, and faculty at the university through education, advocacy, and community building.
The University Activities Center is a student-run organization providing quality programming that is both entertaining and enriching to the lives of students, faculty, and staff at the University of Michigan, and the UAC boasts over a dozen different committees that involve students in the planning and execution of a wide variety of events both on- and off-campus.
