Welcome to the Division of Student Life.

Students at the University of Michigan love using our multitude of learning and support services because we are dedicated to advancing their learning and development, fostering well-being, and cultivating an inclusive and equitable campus community. We’re the first stop for students to Get HelpFind CommunityGet Housing & FoodGet Active, and fully enjoy a successful, engaged time on campus. U-M students from every school, college, and program, and each degree level — undergraduate to Ph.D. — can use Student Life resources to develop, transform, and enrich their entire education.

Parents and families also rely on us to help them navigate the university and feel confident about supporting their students' experiences.

At Student Life, our core work is to:

  • Design and foster inclusive environments and physical spaces that value each person and create a sense of belonging and connection.
  • Provide care for students’ physical and mental health, promote personal and community well-being, and ensure that students have access to resources that meet their essential needs.
  • Create opportunities for students to examine their values and passions, leverage their strengths, and build their confidence and skills to make positive contributions.
  • Facilitate deeper awareness of individual and collective identity that prepares students to thrive in a global context.
  • Work with students to navigate and address complex problems and to build agency to advocate for their own needs.

Please feel free to contact us through the Office of the Vice President for Student Life. All students, parents, families, staff, faculty, and other community members are welcome.

Go Blue!
