Michigan Recreation is proud to share the success of its Club Sports program during the 2024-2025 school year, which includes five national championships added to its growing list of achievements.

The Running Club

The Running Club had a standout year, beginning in the fall when the women’s cross country team secured first place at the National Intercollegiate Running Club Association (NIRCA) national championship in November. Their momentum continued into the spring with a second team national title at the NIRCA women’s track and field championship in April.

Gymnastics

April also marked a major achievement for Club Gymnastics, which claimed the title of 2025 NAIGC Xcel Diamond Mixed Team National Champions. This victory marked the club’s third consecutive national title at NAIGC. Highlights included a perfect 10.0 on the uneven bars and a bronze all-around finish by Abby Quint.

Softball

Club Softball secured its first-ever national title in Division I of the National Club Softball Association (NCSA). While the team has consistently dominated and made regular appearances at nationals, this championship marked a historic milestone. The team also finished the season ranked #1 in the Rawlings Final NCSA DI Top 20 Poll, with their only loss occurring in October 2024.

Men’s Rowing

Men’s Rowing closed out the year with a triumphant return to the top of their sport, reclaiming the title of Men’s Team Points Champion at the American Collegiate Rowing Association (ACRA) Championship Regatta. This achievement reflects not only the speed of individual boats but also the overall depth and consistency of the team.

The Club Sports program saw 27 teams compete at national tournaments this year, with several others narrowly missing their sport’s top title. It was a highly successful year overall and a testament to the dedication and hard work of the teams and their student leaders, both in and out of competition.
