Cares Funding Available to Students

U-M students who have encountered unexpected financial costs due to the COVID-19 pandemic are eligible to apply for emergency funding from the Federal Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act.

This Congressional relief package is intended to address the economic fallout from the pandemic, and can be applied for on Wolverine Access.

Students can seek support for unexpected costs caused by the COVID-19-related disruption such as food, housing, course materials, health care, and child care, in addition to travel or computer/technology expenses required to study remotely. Each application is being considered based on the specifics of the student’s situation and eligibility.

CARES Act funding is limited, and distribution will last until funds allocated to U-M have been exhausted. To learn more about the CARES Act and the campus response to COVID-19, visit campusblueprint.umich.edu.
