Our Time With Your Student

Dear Wolverine Families,

It’s hard to believe we’re already on the cusp of August—your students are just a few short weeks away from the start of the new semester! In Student Life, we’re busy making campus ready and as safe as possible to welcome them for an engaging and rewarding experience, whether they choose to come in person to Ann Arbor, stay home and take classes 100% virtually, or a mixture of the two.

We’ve heard from you all summer—a mixture of questions, concerns, and excitement about the upcoming academic year—and we know you might still have more questions. When will your student be able to move in? What will self isolation look like? What about finding student jobs, student organizations, and more?

That’s why in this edition of Family Matters, we will walk you through a variety of resources and services that correspond to these questions. This includes updates on housing and dining, a suggested checklist of what to do before your student begins the new semester, and how your student can best keep themself and their friends safe by leveraging the Culture of Care agreement and following our self isolation policy.

While the following articles should address most questions that might be on your mind, if they don’t, you can reach out to [email protected] to be routed to the best office to help you. We are here to support your student, but we are also here to support you, our students’ parents and families.

Together, we can make a difference and create a Michigan experience to truly remember. That’s why I am so inspired—and I hope you are, too. Until next time, take care, and Go Blue!
