Parent and Family Weekend 2025 will be held September 12-14, 2025!
We are thrilled to welcome parents, families, and supporters to campus for an unforgettable Michigan Experience! This exciting weekend promises many opportunities to explore campus life, including informational sessions and open houses with various schools and colleges, captivating historical campus tours, a tailgate hosted by Student Life, and the electrifying atmosphere of a home football game against Central Michigan University. Join us for a weekend that showcases the vibrant spirit and rich traditions of the University of Michigan!
Online registration will be available from 12:00 p.m. ET on July 8 to 5:00 p.m. ET on July 22, 2025. A link will be provided here for registration.
You may also register in person during check-in on September 12th; however, it is recommended that you register online, as many events sell out or reach capacity quickly. The events and items available during on-site registration will be limited.
Tips for a Smooth Registration Experience
To help you have the best possible experience when registering, here are a few friendly reminders and suggestions:
- Stick to One Tab: Please keep only one browser tab or window open during registration. Keeping multiple tabs open may slow things down or cause errors.
- Use a Supported Browser: For optimal results, we recommend using Google Chrome, Firefox, or Microsoft Edge to register.
- Expect Some Delays: Registration opens on July 8 at noon ET, and many people will be logging in simultaneously. Things may run slowly or even freeze briefly — this is normal. Please refresh your browser or wait a few moments; we’ll be monitoring the system and working behind the scenes to keep things running smoothly.
- Talk with Your Student First: If you plan to attend events on Friday, September 12, we encourage you to discuss with your student beforehand about their class schedule and which events interest them. Classes are still in session that day. However, you’re also welcome to attend events on your own.
- Plan Ahead: Take a look at the events schedule in advance and jot down the events you and your family are most interested in. Once you begin registration, you’ll have about 15 minutes to make your selections and check out. If the session times out, you’ll need to start over and re-add everything to your cart.
- Be Consistent with Your Info: The name and email you provide in the “Registrant Information” section will be used at check-in to pick up your tickets and souvenirs. Using the same information at check-in will help make the process quick and easy.
- Event Availability: If you see an event/item marked "at capacity" (but not “sold out”), it means it’s temporarily in someone else’s cart. Please wait a few minutes— it might become available again once those carts expire.
- Don’t Rush to Register If You’re Unsure: If you don’t find any events or items you want to attend or purchase, we recommend waiting to register rather than paying the nonrefundable $55 registration fee. More options may become available on another day.
- Football Tickets Only: If you’re only interested in attending the football game and see that tickets are no longer available through PFW registration, we recommend not registering and instead purchasing tickets directly through Michigan Athletics or SeatGeek to avoid paying the $55 fee unnecessarily.
- Registration Timeline: Online registration is open from July 8 to July 22. Many of our events don’t have capacity limits, so there’s no need to worry if you aren’t able to register right away.
- In-Person Registration Is an Option: Can’t register online? No problem. You’ll be able to register in person at check-in on September 12. Many events and items will still be available at that time, especially those without capacity limits.
Football Ticket Information
If your family is committed to attending the U-M vs. Central Michigan football game, you can purchase tickets in a few ways:
- Purchase tickets through U-M Athletics when they go on sale to the public on July 8, 2025.
- Purchase tickets now through U-M's third-party vendor, SeatGeek.
- A limited number of football tickets will be available for purchase during Parent & Family Weekend registration in July 2025. However, the Parent & Family Weekend team cannot guarantee that tickets will be available for every interested family, as they typically sell out within a few hours.
Registration Fee Waiver
The 2025 Fee Waiver Application will be open online from June 2-30, 2025.
We recognize that the financial commitment can be a barrier to attending Parent & Family Weekend (September 12-14, 2025). While many no-cost opportunities are offered throughout the weekend, other events, travel, and the registration fee can be prohibitive.
The Parent & Family Weekend Fee Waiver is designed to assist the families of those students with financial need, as demonstrated by the student’s financial aid package. Priority consideration will be given to those students receiving the Go Blue Guarantee and/or based on their financial aid applications, as determined by the Office of Financial Aid. Any parent or guardian of a current, full-time undergraduate student receiving financial aid can apply for a Parent & Family Weekend Fee Waiver.
The fee waiver only waives the registration fee and allows access to the weekend's free activities. It does not pay for football tickets, travel, or other fee-based events.
All application and Parent & Family Weekend fee waiver decisions will remain confidential. Recipients will be privately notified and not publicly identified.
