Giving Blueday is how the entire University of Michigan community—from students and parents to alumni and fans—can participate in Giving Tuesday, a global day of giving following Thanksgiving weekend. Over the course of 24 hours, you can become a victor for Michigan by making a gift to support what you, or the student you love, are most passionate about. Your gift—of any size—will make a difference.
A record-breaking 8,000 victors, including 2,200 new donors, participated in last year’s fourth annual Giving Blueday, helping raise $4.4 million for our students, faculty, programs and facilities. With your help, we can break these records on Giving Blueday 2018.
As the family member of a Michigan student, how will you participate on this Giving Blueday? Will it be through supporting your student's favorite student organization or Student Life program? Past Giving Blueday donors have supported student organizations like Michigan Active Citizens: Alternative Spring Break, which secured many new donors and dollars for spring break service learning opportunities. Last year, each of our 29 Club Sports teams raised funds that support their pursuit of National Championships.
This year, Student Life units and student organizations will have their own fundraising pages, complete with stories to help promote their causes. Student organizations can qualify for several hourly challenges throughout the day, adding additional dollars to their cause. Additionally, there are matching funds available for first-time donors to U-M, as well as for student donors.
