COVID-19 Assessment for Students

Students who live in the vicinity of campus have several convenient COVID-19 testing opportunities on campus.

University Health Service (UHS) offers testing for U-M students 7 days/week, whether students have symptoms or not. UHS is constantly adapting to meet student needs, including offering:

  • Nurse advice by phone
  • Online assessment for students with symptoms or possible exposure
  • Self-scheduling through the online UHS Patient Portal
  • Group testing for students living in group settings in which a potential cluster has been identified

UHS also tests students in U-M Residence Halls through pop-up testing and delivers test kits to students temporarily residing in University quarantine-isolation housing.

Another opportunity to test is through the U-M COVID-19 Community Sampling and Tracking Program (CSTP). This is a free, opt-in, voluntary surveillance testing program for those on the Ann Arbor campus who do not have symptoms or recent exposures. In the coming weeks, there will be increased capacity through saliva testing, as well as new testing locations across campus.

UHS encourages all students to wear face coverings, wash hands, maintain social distance, and stay home when sick. More information about COVID-19 for students and families is available on the Maize & Blueprint, which is updated regularly.
