Discover Our University Unions Spaces & Places

As your student begins to explore U-M, they will discover that University Unions is an important part of their Michigan experience.

The Michigan Union (Central Campus - State Street), the Michigan League (Central Campus - North University Ave), and Pierpont Commons (North Campus - Bonisteel Boulevard): Collectively known as the University Unions, these much-beloved spaces bring students, faculty, staff and the community together to connect, learn and thrive.

We’re here to help your students connect, discover, and learn. Encourage your students to visit their Unions to:

  • Hang out and relax with friends in our cozy lounges
  • Get involved by visiting the IdeaHub or ask questions at the Campus Information Center
  • Watch the game on the big screen in the Union Courtyard
  • Enjoy coffee breaks between classes, grab fresh to-go snacks at our markets, or refuel at a variety of restaurants
  • Check out UMix on Friday nights
  • Pick up textbooks at Barnes & Noble
  • Work on assignments in our relaxing study areas
  • Shop for on-campus essentials
  • Attend a student organization program in our event spaces.
  • Get access to a variety of student services like Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS) and Multi-Ethnic Student Affairs (MESA)
  • Hit the pause button by visiting a Reflection Room or Wellness Zone

We also have activities to help your students find community and have fun including hosting several Welcome Week events designed for both our new students and their families and loved ones.
