Have the Best Fan Experience!

Do you plan to attend a U-M football game this fall? This football season is especially exciting because of the number of big home games.

If you plan to attend the night game on August 31, the game during Parents & Family Weekend or any of the other games, you'll want to keep a few things in mind such as:

One potential challenge of football game days is risky drinking, which can cause negative consequences for drinkers and non-drinkers alike. Night games are even more of a challenge because people may drink longer.

The university in collaboration with the City of Ann Arbor plans for a great fan experience in a safe and fun environment. U-M proudly supports students in recovery, and opportunities abound where students, families, and fans can participate in game day and campus activities and explore the beautiful city of Ann Arbor without alcohol as the focus.

If families and students choose to drink, here are ideas about how to enjoy the game and feel great the next day.

Finally, help keep U-M football classy:

  • Treat everyone with respect, even those who are cheering for the other team.
  • If someone gets carried away, use your influence to discourage inappropriate behavior.
  • Help is available. If someone interferes with your enjoyment of the game, or someone is in trouble or being treated disrespectfully, please contact Michigan Stadium Event Team Member or police officers for assistance.
