Our Time With Your Student

Dear Wolverine Families,

As you may already know, the University of Michigan is now one of hundreds of institutions of higher education across the country that are requiring students to get fully vaccinated before the beginning of the Fall 2021 semester, if they are able to do so. This applies to all U-M faculty and staff as well. As of this past Monday, the vaccine dashboard shows that 86% of students have reported that they are fully vaccinated. As these numbers indicate, U-M students are getting ready for fall in earnest. Student Life is, too!

A COVID Update

Dear Parents and Families,

As the fall semester approaches, we are committed to providing you and your student with up-to-date information on current campus life and opportunities that will make an education at U-M a safe, positive experience. Earlier today, your student received this emailed update, which includes information about the new COVID-19 vaccination requirement for all University of Michigan students, faculty and staff across all three campuses, including Michigan Medicine, by the start of the fall term on Aug. 30.

Our top priority is ensuring the health and safety of our University of Michigan community. The emergence of the more highly infectious delta variant of SARS-CoV-2, the possibility of breakthrough infections, and our inability to vaccinate the young children of students and employees and those who are immunocompromised have necessitated that we strengthen our approach to keeping our community safe.

Our Time With Your Student

Dear Wolverine Families,

As we get closer to the first Well-Being Break on February 24, it’s a great time to review the resources and services available to take care of U-M students in a holistic way. We know it can be tricky for students to navigate such a big university, especially during the pandemic. That’s why we started sending students a digest of suggestions each Sunday, on how to make the most of our offerings that week. This past Sunday’s message, for example, featured everything from recommendations on finding new study buddies through Speed Friending events, to tips on securing summer internships.
