Tuition insurance available for the 2022-23 academic year

The cost of tuition can be substantial, and students may need to withdraw from a term due to an injury, illness, or flare-up of a chronic condition. The U-M Tuition Insurance Plan is a voluntary insurance available to students on the Ann Arbor campus that can assist in these circumstances.

According to Student Life’s Student Legal Services, renter’s insurance is a bargain, helping students in the event of an unexpected event in their apartment such as a fire or theft.

Important information regarding ongoing labor negotiations at U-M

As you may already know, the university is in contract negotiations with the union representing graduate student instructors (GSIs) and graduate student staff assistants (GSSAs). The union has voted to authorize a strike, empowering the union’s leadership to call a work stoppage at any time. Earlier today, U-M undergraduate students received the below message from Provost Laurie McCauley. Your Wolverine’s education remains a priority and classes and instruction will continue. Following continued contract negotiations with the union representing graduate student instructors (GSIs) and graduate student staff assistants (GSSAs), the union has communicated that they will begin a strike on the morning of Wednesday, March 29. Update on labor negotiations

The University of Michigan has submitted a petition to the state to initiate the fact-finding process in an effort to resolve its ongoing contractual dispute with the Graduate Employees’ Organization. The university’s petition for fact finding comes six months after bargaining began and five days after its negotiating team provided GEO with a comprehensive package in response to all outstanding issues.
