Tamara Williams was a University of Michigan student and Family Housing resident when she was killed by her boyfriend in 1997. The annual lecture is meant to commemorate her life, raise awareness of domestic and dating violence, and increase interest in their prevention.

On February 5th, University President, Mary Sue Coleman, and Vice President for Student Life, Royster Harper, hosted the 1st Fireside Chat of the Winter 2013 semester.
Here is a transcript of the dialogue between them and the students. They address student concerns and daily life at Michigan and some students ask the President and Vice President about their times at Michigan and abroad.
Topics discussed this month were: better connecting North and Central Campus, undergraduate child care, African American male athlete graduation rates, campus safety, and more.

Dr. Royster Harper, Vice President for Student Affairs is seeking students to serve on her Student Advisory Board. The board meets 2x per month on Wednesday evenings and advises the Vice President on matters important to the student body as she leads the Division of Student Affairs and represents student voice at the Executive level.
Spring Break week may conjure images of sandy beaches or a quieter Ann Arbor, but for members of The Career Center staff and 60 Michigan students, the mid-winter break means a road trip to the Windy City! The Career Center's Immersion Excursion program regularly brings students to on-site visits with host employers.
The I Will campaign is an entirely student-led initiative to start a campus-wide conversation surrounding sexual assault. Launched at U-M, "I Will" is working to end sexual violence at college campuses across the nation.
