Public Safety Task Force Hosts Community Forum

The Advancing Public Safety at the University of Michigan Task Force — one of several anti-racism initiatives the university announced last fall — will host its first community forum on Tuesday, February 9 from 7-8:30 p.m.

The event, which will take place virtually, will allow Ann Arbor campus faculty, staff, students, parents and Ann Arbor community members to share their experiences with campus policing and public safety, or join and listen.

Take Time Before You Sign

It may just be the beginning of Winter semester, but if your student is thinking of looking to live off campus next year, it is never too early to start the process.

Beyond The Diag, Student Legal Services, First Year Experience and Fraternity & Sorority Life have teamed up to put together an eye-catching and informative campaign -- The Take Time Before You Sign -- to  help students successfully navigate the house-hunting process.

Do you know about Adaptive Sports and Fitness?

Do you know about Adaptive Sports and Fitness? ‘Get out and get moving’ is not always as simple as it sounds. Physical fitness -- vital for your student’s health and wellness -- can be a challenge for individuals with mobility impairments. The Adaptive Sports and Fitness program at the University of Michigan is working to make sure all students have opportunities for participation -- whether the student is an advanced athlete or just wants to have fun.

FYE Meet Ups

Let your student know that First Year Experience (FYE)'s Community Meet Ups have begun! Community Meet Ups are a space for students of all years to gather around shared interests.

Our Time With Your Student

Dear Wolverine Families,

The good news is out: We return to campus this fall, when your students will dive into a stimulating environment where most classes are taught in person, residence halls will open to house all first year students and as many returning students as possible, athletic events have fans in the stands, and the campus is abuzz with activity.

U-M offers Sustainability Honors Cord

Is your student sustainability minded? Do they work or volunteer to make a positive impact on the environment? If so, they may be eligible to receive an Excellence in Sustainability Honors Cord for graduation.

A University of Michigan partnership has established the Excellence in Sustainability Honors Cord, launching with the upcoming spring graduation, in order to recognize students who went the extra mile to further their knowledge of and skills in applying sustainability principles while studying at the U-M.

Study, creative spaces open in unions

The University’s Unions are open for study, respite and creation via a web-based space reservation system called Study Spaces at U-M. Study Spaces helps your student find and reserve designated individual study spaces, computer stations, a space to take a remote class, or just a dedicated quiet touchdown spot between classes.

What to do? Helping your student stay involved

From “Grab & Go” safe in-person activities to leadership series to virtual movie watch events, there’s always something happening for your student to stay active and involved.
