Tuition insurance available for the 2022-23 academic year

The cost of tuition can be substantial, and students may need to withdraw from a term due to an injury, illness, or flare-up of a chronic condition. The U-M Tuition Insurance Plan is a voluntary insurance available to students on the Ann Arbor campus that can assist in these circumstances.

Your student’s life Beyond the Diag

Is your student living in an off-campus apartment this year? If so, you might want to encourage them to look into renter’s insurance. According to Student Life’s Student Legal Services, renter’s insurance is a bargain, helping students in the event of an unexpected event in their apartment such as a fire or theft.

Important information regarding ongoing labor negotiations at U-M

As you may already know, the university is in contract negotiations with the union representing graduate student instructors (GSIs) and graduate student staff assistants (GSSAs). The union has voted to authorize a strike, empowering the union’s leadership to call a work stoppage at any time. Earlier today, U-M undergraduate students received the below message from Provost Laurie McCauley. Your Wolverine’s education remains a priority and classes and instruction will continue. Additional updates from ongoing negotiations can be found on the University Human Resources website.

Following continued contract negotiations with the union representing graduate student instructors (GSIs) and graduate student staff assistants (GSSAs), the union has communicated that they will begin a strike on the morning of Wednesday, March 29. Earlier today, your student received a message from Provost Laurie McCauley.
